Multi-Trade Operative

£36,490 per annum + benefits | Bath | Full Time

Permanent | 40 hours per week (8am-5pm, Monday to Friday)

A repair done right first time makes a real difference to someone's home. As a Multi-Trade Operative at Curo, you'll be the person who makes that happen.

You'll join our Repairs team, travelling to customers' homes across Bath, Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. No two days are the same. One job might be a leaking pipe, the next a sticking uPVC door, a rotten window frame or a kitchen installation.

You don't need a social housing background. If you're a qualified tradesperson from private construction, maintenance or a similar field, your skills will be put to good use here.

What you'll be doing

• Finding the cause of building defects and carrying out the right repair

• Using your carpentry, plumbing, wet trades, decorating, glazing and metalwork skills

• Repairing uPVC doors and windows

• Working with colleagues on full kitchen installations

• Checking each job for risks before you start and following our safety procedures, including our asbestos procedure

• Explaining your work clearly to customers and keeping them informed

• Flagging anything you spot on a job that could affect our customers or homes

• Keeping the van stocked, recording materials used and logging your work on a phone or tablet

• Looking after tools, equipment and vehicles

More about you

You're a qualified tradesperson who takes pride in quality work. You're happy managing your own jobs day to day, making good calls on site and being part of a supportive team. You're friendly and respectful in customers' homes and keen to keep learning.

Essential:

• A trade qualification (City and Guilds, NVQ or equivalent)

• Strong carpentry and plumbing skills

• Experience of working in customers' homes or another customer-facing setting

• Comfortable with everyday reading, writing and numbers

• Comfortable using a phone or tablet to record your work

• Organised, punctual and able to work well in a team

• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• Experience in wet trades, decorating, glazing or metalwork

• Experience in social housing or supporting customers who may need extra help
