Assistant Site Manager (Curo Enterprise)
£56,650 | Walnut Buildings, Radstock + The Hub, Mulberry Park, Bath
Full Time | Permanent | 40 hours per week
Your Standards. Our Developments. Homes Delivered.
We’re building 32 new affordable homes on the former Walnut Buildings site in Radstock and we’re looking for an Assistant Site Manager to help bring them to life.
This is a hands-on, site-based role. Working alongside the Senior/Site Manager, you’ll help keep the site running day to day - coordinating trades, calling off materials, checking quality and making sure work stays on programme. When the Senior Site Manager is away, you’ll step up and keep things moving.
At Curo Enterprise, the homes you help deliver do more than turn a profit. We build quality homes for sale, and the money we make goes straight back into Curo’s social purpose - funding affordable housing and the services that help our communities thrive. The Walnut Buildings scheme is a good example: 32 energy-efficient homes, all affordable, built for local families on a site that needed it.
What you’ll be doing
Supporting the Senior/ Site Manager to coordinate trades, labour and materials so work meets the production programme
Keeping sub-contractors on site working to programme and deadlines, helping resolve issues quickly
Ordering and calling off materials so the right resources are on site when they’re needed
Deputising for the Senior/ Site Manager when they’re away, keeping the site running smoothly
Compiling snagging lists and checking the quality of completed work, so each home meets our standards before handover
Applying your knowledge of construction trades and legislation - including health and safety, NHBC requirements and Building Regulations
Keeping the public, visitors and colleagues safe, with the right preventative measures and protective equipment in place
Working closely with the Sales team, attending Sales and Build meetings and inspecting show homes
What you’ll get in return
Beyond a competitive salary and the chance to make a real difference every day, you’ll get:
26 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) rising to 29 days after 3 years
Your birthday off as an extra holiday
Up to 10% matched pension contribution
Free parking at many of our locations
Flexible benefits which might include a Health Cash Plan
Access to an Employee Assistance Programme for your own wellbeing
More about you
You take pride in a job done well and you bring a calm, organised approach to a busy site. You build good relationships with trades and colleagues and you keep things moving when priorities shift.
Essential:
Experience of working to established build programmes on a construction or housebuilding site
A sound working knowledge of the full range of construction trades, gained through a recognised qualification (such as an NVQ in Construction Management) or substantial hands-on experience in the building trades
A practical understanding of construction legislation, including health and safety, NHBC requirements and Building Regulations
Able to keep on-site teams, trades and labour focused on hitting targets and deadlines
Well organised, able to prioritise and adapt as site needs change
A strong communicator who builds effective relationships with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders
Able to travel reliably between our development sites
A valid CSCS card, or the ability to obtain one before starting on site
It would be a bonus if you also had an SMSTS or SSSTS certificate, or experience on residential new-build sites - but if you’ve got the right grounding and attitude, we’d encourage you to apply.

We own and manage more than 14,000 homes; properties that our 28,000 residents call home. We’re building hundreds of new homes every year for rent and sale.
We provide award-winning support services to a wide range of residents, including homeless young people and families, older and disabled people, and those affected by mental health issues or memory loss.
As a housing association we have no paid shareholders. We create profit for purpose, reinvesting the surpluses from our commercial house-building business into our core social purpose.
