Plumber/Heating Engineer - Keeping Homes Warm and Safe
£37,997 per annum + benefits | Field-based across Curo properties
Full Time | Permanent | 40 hours per week
Your Skill. Our Homes. Warm and Safe.
Behind every job on your list is a customer waiting for you. Sometimes the heating has gone out and they have got young kids at home. Either way, they need someone who knows what they are doing and treats their home with respect.
This is a hands-on role focused on central heating rather than general domestic plumbing. You will work across heating systems, Replace or relocate radiators by lifting floorboards and carpets to reach and renew pipework, and getting homes back to full warmth. On more complex jobs you will work alongside our gas engineers, bringing your skills to the trickier diagnostics and installations.
This is a field-based role with the kit, the patch and the support to do your work properly. No racing the clock. No corners cut on safety. Just good work, done well.
What you'll be doing
Carrying out heating repairs, maintenance and installations, including radiator replacements & heating pipework, to a high standard
Lifting floorboards and carpets to access and renew pipework, then leaving homes clean and tidy
Diagnosing faults quickly and getting them fixed first time wherever possible
Working alongside our gas engineers on more complex heating jobs
Responding to emergency call outs, making homes safe and arranging any follow-on work
Completing planned maintenance, including checks on systems and components such as unvented cylinders and TMVs
Carrying out a dynamic risk assessment before each job and working safely at all times
Keeping accurate records of your work using a mobile device, and managing your van stock and materials
More about you
You are an experienced heating engineer who is technically strong and takes pride in doing the job properly. You are confident diagnosing problems and working across different systems. You are just as comfortable in someone's home, explaining what you are doing, listening to what they need, and leaving things as you found them.
Essential:
Substantial hands-on experience as a heating engineer across repairs, maintenance and installations, with proven strength on radiator and underfloor heating systems
Level 2 or 3 City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification, or equivalent practical experience
Confident diagnosing faults and making sound decisions to resolve them
Comfortable using mobile devices and IT systems to manage your jobs
Clear communicator who can explain work in plain language
Able to work on your own and as part of a team, managing your own workload well
A full UK driving licence
A basic DBS check will be required for this role
