Your Expertise. Our Communities. Spaces Transformed.
Ready to use your trade skills in work that makes a real difference? We're looking for a qualified multi-trade operative to join our specialist Groundworks team. Your expertise will directly improve the outdoor spaces where our residents live across Bath, Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
If you're a skilled tradesperson - whether from private construction or social housing - who wants stable, meaningful work, this could be perfect. You'll use your qualifications and experience to repair and maintain the paths, walls, fences and drainage that keep our communities safe and looking their best.
What you'll be doing
- Working as part of a close-knit three-person team, starting from your van each day and travelling to properties across the region
- Managing your daily schedule independently across multiple properties
- Carrying out complex repairs to paths including damaged sections, cracks and making surfaces safe
- Repairing and replacing fencing including posts and panels to keep boundaries secure
- Performing brickwork repairs and pointing on walls to maintain structural integrity
- Installing and repairing minor drainage systems including ACO drains and French drains
- Using specialist tools and equipment to complete groundworks efficiently
- Supporting customers with empathy and professionalism while working in their communities
- Managing your van stock and materials to keep jobs moving
- Keeping detailed records and liaising with your Team Leader on complex cases
- Embracing our Curo values, ensuring our customers are at the forefront of our delivery and provide clear information in respect of the works.
- Complying with the protective health and safety measures put in place by Curo, including the asbestos procedure; taking personal responsibility for my own health, safety and well-being at work and of any other person who may be affected by my actions or omissions at work
- Carrying out a dynamic risk assessment for each job and working safely.
What you'll get in return
Beyond a competitive salary of £35,427 and the chance to make a genuine difference, you'll get:
- 26 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) rising to 29 days after 3 years
- Your birthday off as an extra holiday
- Up to 10% matched pension contribution
- Company van with full professional equipment and tools provided
- Regular toolbox talks and updates on changing regulations
- Monthly team meetings and ongoing skills development opportunities
- Free parking at many of our locations
- Flexible benefits which might include a Health Cash Plan
- Access to an Employee Assistance Programme for your wellbeing
More about you
We're looking for someone with proven trade skills who's ready to apply them in social housing:
Essential:
- Formal trade qualifications - City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in a relevant trade
- Strong multi-trade skills across carpentry, wet trades (brickwork/pointing), and basic plumbing/drainage
- Experience in groundworks - paths, fencing, walls or similar outdoor construction work
- Full UK driving licence - essential for travelling between properties
- Customer-focused approach - ability to work considerately in residential communities
- Team player mentality - works well with colleagues and supports others
- Methodical thinking - assess situations and make decisions for customers' benefit
Whether you're a groundworker wanting to develop your skills further, or already multi-skilled but looking for more variety and purpose, we value tradespeople who see this as a chance to use their expertise meaningfully.

About Curo
We're one of the largest landlords in the South West, with a diverse portfolio of affordable and market rented homes.
We own and manage more than 14,000 homes; properties that our 28,000 residents call home. We’re building hundreds of new homes every year for rent and sale.
We provide award-winning support services to a wide range of residents, including homeless young people and families, older and disabled people, and those affected by mental health issues or memory loss.
As a housing association we have no paid shareholders. We create profit for purpose, reinvesting the surpluses from our commercial house-building business into our core social purpose.
